When it comes to taking good care of small coffee tables there are a few things you need to do every once and a while to keep it looking it’s best. For most people it is not a matter or taking good care of their coffee tables because they simply bought it to hold papers, magazines, and a beverage of some sort. But for people such as myself I like to keep my small coffee tables looking top notch because they are either antique coffee tables or they are unique in some fashion.
Here is what you need to do to keep you small coffee table in excellent condition:
1. Keep it clean – The biggest thing I see with furniture is that dust sits on the furniture longer than a few days, which will cause it to bond to the furniture. For people who have wood furniture you need to use the proper cleaners to clean your wood or else it could harm the finish and make the wood look cloudy.
2. Use coasters – Many people think a coaster is just a fancy place to put your drink down on, but really they are there to keep your furniture from getting wet from the precipitation that your drink might have. Also there are coasters for plates that make your small coffee tables and even dinner tables last longer and look better.
3. Do maintenance every 4 months – I have seen many small coffee tables that never get fixed when they have a loose bolt, or split piece of wood, and that is not right. Whenever there is a problem with some of your furniture you need to take care of it right away. What I always do for my wood coffee tables is wax them ever 4 months to keep them shining and looking new. This will also help to restore the color and remove scratches from the finish.
These are the three most important things to do when taking care of your small coffee tables or any furniture for that matter. Make sure you take your time and do this to all the furniture in your home because you won’t want one item to look brand new and everything else looks like you found it on the street.
